All About April

Here are some of the highlights from April.

Mom was back on Studio 5 again!

Mom and Dad went on the coolest date to a magic dinner show.

Then we went on another date with friends to get pizza.

Seth played tennis this Spring and was so good!

We went on a waterfall hike before all the water melted.

Mom had to write about these hiking shoes. She is a great fashion model.

All of the boys wanted to try the waterproof shoes. It was so funny!

Seth gave an amazing speech as a Roman Centurion.

Baseball began. Dax is playing for the Red Sox.

Sometimes we catch beautiful sunsets, but mostly lots of rain at games. Seth is pitching.

Mark is on the Cardinals.

He even tried playing catcher.

Seth is also on the Red Sox.

Mom won a PTA award for all of her time and service!

We walked through the Saratoga Springs Temple open house. We love this new temple!

We took a drive to the Bear River Migratory refuge.

We saw lots of birds and lots of muskrats.

We also saw a great horned owl.

The second time we saw the babies!

This is Mark's favorite activity.

Mom and Dad love it, too!

It wouldn't be a post without one of Seth's selfies that he takes.

Spring Break

Spring Break was a lot different this year. First, we stayed home. We didn't have any grand travel plans, mostly because it's not really Spring yet. This year has been the wettest on record, with snowstorm after snowstorm. The snowpack is double or triple the average across the state, and there was no end in sight! We were grateful for the snow because we've been in an awful drought, but now the big worry is flooding. So, we stayed home.

It was a good thing we stayed home because on Monday and Tuesday of Spring Break we got 11 inches of snow. The first storm dropped 4 inches. The second one added 7 more. It was also very cold! Temperatures stayed under forty degrees all the way through the break.

It was SO MUCH SNOW!!

We shoveled a lot this year.

Seth built a cool fort with his brick builder.

We also roasted marshmallows by the fake fire.

We did have a few adventures, though. We kicked off Spring Break by enjoying General Conference. It was nice to relax at home.

One of the days we went to Provo. We checked out a new indoor adventure place called Provo Beach. We did laser tag, bowling, and mini croquet. There was also an arcade with some fun games. Afterward we ate lunch at the BYU creamery before heading onto BYU campus to visit the Education in Zion gallery. A museum about learning in the gospel and at BYU.

Look out for that shark.
Wow Seth! Look at those muscles.
Dad was really good at laser tag.
We played mini croquet, even though it was really like giant croquet.
We also spent some time in the arcade.
Mom and Dad both had Buddy Richards for their teacher at BYU, and he was talking on all the videos at the Education in Zion display.
For some reason, this map was the highlight for the children.

We took a short walk down by the lake on a day where the sunshine came out. We went to see the new Mario movie, which we all enjoyed. And we had a lovely Passover dinner.

We are always looking for the owl over here.
It felt so nice to be outside.
The Mario Movie was great. Dad only slept for about 20 minutes.
We love our Passover dinner and discussion.

Friday, Mark, Dax,  and Dad went to the bountiful temple. It was a new temple for the boys to do baptisms in. While they were in the temple, Seth and Mom checked out a park, which was completely flooded. We will have to go back and play another time.

Who knew there would be so much snow at the end of April in town?
The boys love doing baptisms at the temples.

After the temple, we ate a picnic lunch in the car and then took a tour at the Utah Capitol Building. We wondered if they tour was like the school field trip tours, and it was. But we loved learning about this awesome building. It was cold and Mark had to get back for a school project, so Dad didn't get to do his outside tour.  We will have to go back for that.

Mark and Dax are running security for governor Seth.
Seth is always up for a crazy picture.
We love the capitol building. It's so pretty.
What happens to get pictures taken sometimes.
It worked!
It was so bright--all that snow!

One of the best things we did was go to an 80s rock laser light show at the space center in Pleasant Grove. It was so much fun and we loved almost every song.

I couldn't take pictures of the show, so I took pics of the people. These two loved the music!
These two loved all the lights (and the music).

There was a big event for the blog on Saturday for the Utah Film Festival for Kids. It was actually really cool with little workshops about stop motion videos and movie makeup. We had a lot of fun.

We love doing new things together.
Dax created a pretty good bruise right there.
Dad made a huge cut.
We learned all about film making.
Seth will probably be a director one day!

Spring Break ended with Easter. We had a nice Sunday meeting where Mom played the piano for choir, and Mark and Dax played a duet. They did so great. Then we went and walked the Alpine Easter Walk. It is short, but awesome. We ended the day with an Easter egg hunt and ham dinner.

Spring Break was relaxing and fun, but we might need to plan a trip for next year!

Seth took our pictures at the Alpine Eatser Walk.
The kids are still excited to hunt for eggs.
Dad hid them really well this year.
Our bunny rolls were yummy!
