Grandpa's birthday was an extra special day this year. It was the day that he was sealed to his parents in the Pocatello temple. We were so blessed to be able to be a part of this day.
We woke up early in the morning so that Mark and Dax (and Abby) could do baptisms for the dead in the temple. Mark baptized everyone, including Dad, and then Dad baptized Mark. Then Grandpa helped with the confirmations. The temple is beautiful inside. Grandma and Grandpa work in Pocatello every week, so they shared some of the things they do, and places they go.
Mom and Dad love going to the temple with these two amazing boys! |
It was really fun to go with Abby, and Grandma and Grandpa. |
Then we hurried home to drop off the kids. They hung out at Grandma's house while all the adults went back to the temple. We met up with many people from Grandpa's family. His brother and sister were there and they participated in the sealing of Grandma Betty and Grandpa Dan. Then Dad was able to be proxy for Grandpa Dan and Mom's cousin Lindsay stood in for Grandma Betty while all three kids (Granda, Tyler, and Teresa) knelt around the altar and were sealed as a family.
It was so special and the spirit was so strong. We reflected on all of the people who had worked so hard to make this happen. Grandpa Dan's brother, Jess, was there. He is the last of that generation still hanging around. It was fun to visit with him.
We then had dinner and treats for Grandpa's birthday before we headed back home. It was a great day!
This is our group who were able to be at the temple. |
