Dad's Birthday

A few days before Randy's birthday, he got a call from his brother Gary saying that this birthday would hit a little harder, and feel a little worse. "Why would 51 feel worse than any other?" Dad asked. We had a good laugh about that!

When the big day came, we knew a few things: first, we would be going to Randy's favorite restaurant, Tucano's, and second, he would be eating far too much food. All that did happen, and we went to a movie, too. This year we saw Moana 2, which we were all excited about, but didn't turn out to be very good. Afterward, we had homemade ice cream with Andes mints and a small party. Randy was really happy with his gifts, which included a pebble icemaker and a Bluey t-shirt. It really was a great birthday, even though 51 didn't seem to be that shocking!

Dax loves Tucanos almost as much as Dad.

Randy had no idea what this huge gift was.

He loved his Bluey T-shirt!

Playing games together is what he loves to do!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. We kept it pretty simple this year since we went on a huge trip to Hawaii earlier in the month. The boys all wanted a jersey, so that was their big gift this year. Then we filled it in with small gifts like games, puzzles, underwear, and treats.

Simple, but awesome Christmas.

Pretending they weren't up and counting the minutes until we got up.

Playing games and having fun!

Melanie spent Christmas Eve with us decorating cookies and playing games. Before she arrived, we did a few rounds of Doodle Face so that we can all keep our self esteem under control. There is nothing pretty happening in these drawings. Check them out below.

Dax's face

Looks nothing like Dad.

Seth's is okay, but the ears?!

Mark's face he's making in the picture is sillier than his drawing.

This is the best Doodle Face of Mom ever. She never looks so good.

Decorating cookies is a tradition.

Sisters!

The Webbs also came over for Christmas afternoon and we played the Merry Bells. It was really fun because we did the harmony level and totally rocked it.

These bells are amazing!

Finally we went to visit with Grandpa Ockey. He was at Laurie's house and we exchanged gifts and hung out together. It was fun to see him in a smiling, happy mood.

Visiting with Grandpa.

We had such a fun visit with Randy's dad.

Oh, we made a fun treat for the chickens for Christmas, too!
