Moab

The day after Halloween we went took a weekend trip to Moab. We stayed in a small cabin at an RV and camping park in exchange for some posts and promotional photos. Part of the deal was that we submitted 5 photos to them that can be used in other promotional material. It was really fun figuring out what pictures to take, but we are not very good models! Here are a few of the outtakes from the trip.

We actually did pretty well. It was hard to find bad outtakes!

Though we didn't get in until late Friday night, we got settled and checked into the cabin. It was cozy with an electric fireplace and two beds in the tiny loft. There was one bedroom downstairs for adults, and Seth had to sleep on the couch. It was surprisingly cold when we woke up on November 2, and there was frost on everything.

Since we didn't have a lot on the agenda, we got a late start. We ended up in Arches National Park for a long hike. The boys had only been as far as Landscape Arch, and Mom and Dad had only been to Double O Arch. This time we made the entire loop. This meant going nearly 6 miles, and the trail was rough. In fact, they call it the Primitive Trail on the signs. There was a bit of scrambling and rough terrain, but it wasn't much of a problem for us. We also stopped at an extra arch that none of us had seen before called Private Arch. It was pretty, but we didn't have it all to ourselves.

After that long excursion, we came back to the cabin and spent the afternoon. Mom walked around and took some photos for the property. We finished our promo photos. Then we headed out to dinner at our favorite spot, the Moab Diner. We even had ice cream after our food. 

It was nearly 8pm when we got back to the cabin for a movie. We knew we'd be up late, but since it was daylight savings, and we got to fall back an hour, we enjoyed staying up late. 

The next morning we cleaned up and rolled out early. We made only one stop on the way home at a dinosaur track site. We'd visited this one when Seth was just a baby, and it was time to go back. We really enjoyed the tracks, which were very clear and plentiful. Still, we made it home by early afternoon.
