Dax's Birthday

Dax turned 9 this year! He has grown up so much and is so much fun. Dax had some very specific plans for his birthday. He really wanted to go fishing. Unfortunately that isn't the best plan in May and when Uncle Bob doesn't live nearby. But I think he had a fun birthday anyway!

We went out to Brick Oven the day before his birthday. He loves the root beer and pasta, as we all do! The waiters all sang to him, and brought him his own ice cream. Dax kindly shared with everyone, and he was even allowed to choose a sucker for free before we left.
Dax loves the food at Brick Oven.
Dax was so nice to share his ice cream.
We love celebrating Dax.
On Dax's birthday he requested homemade donuts for breakfast. That was a first! But Mom was a good sport and woke up early to make the donuts for him. Then she took him lunch at school, but his teacher was so nice and told us we could take him out for lunch, so we ate our Wendy's at home! Mark had a baseball game on Dax's birthday so we saved presents and cake for after the game.
Dax was excited for his cinnamon donuts.
We played games at lunch since we came home.
Dax loves strawberry shortcake.
Dax has such a great smile!
He was not going to miss any candles.
Dax is always a great gift receiver, but he was most excited for his Derrick Favors jersey. The last request that he had was to play a family basketball game, and so Mom and Dad took on the children. The parents of course dominated, with Mom leading all scorers!
So excited for his presents!
Dax got a pack of basketball cards and everyone wanted to check them out.
Dax loves the Jazz!
This is truly what makes Dax happy: playing sports as a family.
We love Dax. He is always trying to think of ways to make others happy. He is a great student and loves math. Dax loves basketball the most, but he is also very good at soccer and baseball. He is a speedy runner. He is very silly and gets us laughing quite often. Dax has a very strong testimony of the Gospel and has been working on reading the scriptures on his own this year. We are so glad he is part of our family.

On a side note, Dax received his Wolf award the day after his birthday. He has been a great Cub Scout and is excited to move on to Bears.
Dax was chosen to be the helper since his birthday was the day before.
Dax received his wolf.
Mom was so happy for Dax.
Happy Birthday Dax!
