Our final day in Yellowstone was a short one because we had to get back to Utah for a baseball game. We only got to be in the park until about noon, but that was long enough to see some pretty cool things. We got up early and packed the van. Then we headed down to the Visitor Center and turned in the Junior Scientist booklets. The announcement board said that Riverside Geyser would be going off shortly, and the boys had never seen it before, though Mom and Dad saw it on our first visit back in 2003.

We walked around the Geyser Basin again this morning. |
We enjoyed lots of little bubbling hot pots. |
We also saw some colorful pools. |
One day we hope to see Giant Geyser! |

Morning Glory Pool is one of our favorites. |
Because it was still a while until Riverside erupted, we walked slowly down to Morning Glory Pool and checked out all the little geysers along the way. Riverside is right near the end, and we got there in plenty of time and picked out a good seat. This is one of the most unique geysers in the park because it shoots out across the river sideways, making a nice little waterfall. It was really fun to watch right after we had seen Grand the day before. Since we normally don't spend too much time in the geyser basin (after all, there are animals to see), it was good to see a few geysers spouting off.

We had great seats for Riverside Geyser. |
Riverside is amazing as it squirts across the river. |
Mark really enjoyed seeing this geyser for the first time. |
It shoots for a long time, too! |
We were glad we waited to see this one. |
We headed toward the west gate so that we could meet Grandma and Grandpa Daniels before noon. They wanted to give Seth a few birthday presents, which they did in downtown West Yellowstone. Then we made the drive home, arriving in plenty of time for Mark's baseball games in Heber City.
