Grandma Betty's Funeral

Seth always loved visiting grandma and the squirrel that lived in her bushes.
Mom's grandma passed away last week. She had been living in a care center for the last few years, and missed Grandpa Daniels so much, so while we were sad that she is gone, we are also so happy for her. She is reunited with Grandpa and she passed away peacefully in her sleep. We are so glad that she didn't suffer.

Grandma Daniels was Mom's last living grandparent and the boys' last living great-grandparent. They knew Grandma Betty, and we often visited her at her home and then took her to lunch. We ate at Dylan's (the train restaurant) or Jeremiah's. We loved asking Grandma Betty about her life growing up in Malad, and hearing about her latest Weber State adventures. She loved Weber State Basketball.
The boys knew all about Grandma Betty's love for Damian Lillard.
Mom didn't know her Grandma super well growing up because she lived in California and Grandma Betty lived in Utah. But Grandma and Grandpa Daniels always came for big events like baptisms and graduations, and they always sent cards and gifts. We have gotten to know Grandma Betty a lot better now that Mom lives in Utah and Dad loves to visit with old people. We are so glad that the boys had a chance to spend time with their great-grandma. She loved purple, traveling, reading, sports, and being with family.
Grandma & Grandpa Daniels always came to see Mom's family at least once a year.
They made it to all of Mom's important events like high school graduation.

The funeral was on a Monday, so Dad took the day off so we could celebrate Grandma Betty. Mark was asked to play the opening and closing songs. It was his first time accompanying a congregation, and he did amazing. Everyone sang in the special musical number, Peace in Christ. It was a tough song to get through, but it sounded beautiful.
Mark played perfectly.
Mom and her cousins and some of their kids!
We were worried about snowy weather for traveling, but the snow came through the night and didn't affect the funeral other than it was cold and snowy for the few minutes we were at the cemetery. After Grandpa dedicated the gravesite, we all headed to Jeremiah's in honor of Grandma and ate lunch together.
Dad was one of the pall bearers.
Grandpa Daniels and his two siblings: Tyler and Teresa.
It was definitely a bittersweet day!
Mom loves any chance she has to get together with her sisters!
Kate and Mark are best buddies.
We ate at Jeremiah's. Grandma would have loved it!
Melanie and Tiffany flew in without their families and stayed with us for a few days while we did all of the funeral things. We also got to do some fun things like go out for ice cream and play games. The boys loved having their aunts around. Mom drove to and from the airport four times, but she was also glad to have her sisters in town.
We took Mel and Tiff to our favorite ice cream shop!
