Christmas Trees

Christmas tree cutting is one of our favorite traditions.

Each Saturday after Thanksgiving, for each year we've been married, we've gone to Ephraim to cut Christmas Trees. This has become a tradition that our boys love. So after Thanksgiving, we left Idaho, hurried home and unpacked. Early the next morning, we headed down to Ephraim. Amy and her family, Laurie and her family, and Debbie and her family all met us at the Ockey home in Ephraim. Then we all headed up the mountain.

We ended up riding in Glen's truck after we hit a lot of snow at Taylor's Flat. The truck was able to make it up past Community and the boys and Dad headed right down to look for a tree. Luckily, we found a few close by the road, because the snow was deep. At one point, Mom went in right up over her knees to thigh deep! It was great for sledding, but not for tromping around searching for a Christmas tree.

Nate gave Seth and Aiden a ride.

We had such deep snow this year!

Look how high up the snow goes on Mark.

It was a beautiful winter wonderland.

Seth loves sledding!

Dax actually cut the Christmas tree this year.

Dad is such a trooper about hauling the trees up to the truck.

After we cut the trees, everyone took a ride on the four wheeler and enjoyed hot cocoa and donuts. We also spent some time watching the snowflakes land on the edge of the truck. They were beautiful and you could see each individual flake.

They wish they could all ride together like this.

Mark loves to drive.

The flakes were so pretty.

After we loaded everyone back into the truck, we stopped at Roy's for delicious pizza. We also made two other stops on the way back home. We visited a new Christmas adventure at Gordo's Fun Farm. They had some great photo spots, and a fun little sledding hill. Then we drove through the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights. We hadn't visited for a long time, so it was fun to go drive through again. Not much had changed! It was a fun and busy day!

Mom loves Roy's!

We have to check on the Ephraim Temple every time we are down there.

Gordo's had some fun stuff to do.

We love the photo spots.

It was a fun adventure.

Mom and Dad still love each other so much!

We were excited to decorate the Christmas trees.

The basement tree.

The upstairs trees (before we bought a new owl tree topper).
