Seth's Tennis Season

Seth had a great coach!

Seth moved up to Junior High this year, and the tennis got a lot more intense. He had to work his way up and prove himself to the coach. He did just that, moving up the list and playing some varsity doubles matches. He mostly played JV singles, which is what he'd rather do. There was one time that he got to play varsity singles, and he made the most of it, winning the match.

About halfway through the season, we found out Seth's coach is the son of a lady that teaches at Dad's school. That fun connection made it a little more personal for Seth, even though he still liked to banter with Coach Lance about the Yankees and Red Sox.

In the tournament at the end of the year, Seth earned a first round bye. Then he took on a kid that played a really good game, but as usual, Seth got into his head and ended up winning 6-3. In the finals, he had this huge ogre-- probably a ninth grader. This kid looked like a gorilla with a butterfly net, and he whacked the ball really hard! His serve came down like thunder, but he rarely made it. Seth fought hard, breaking serve right at the end, but he lost 6-3, good for 2nd place. We were really proud of him for doing so well in his first season of Junior High!

Seth's tennis team this season.

Seth is a great tennis player.

His serve was so good this year.

We are so proud of Seth and his tennis skills.
