Girls Weekend

Mom went on a Girls Weekend to St. George with her 4 sisters and her mom. It was her first time going on a girls trip. The weekend was fast and furious. Stephanie, Brittany, and Grandma picked Mom up around lunch time on Friday. They started the trip off by eating at Cubby's because it is so delicious. Then they drove to St. George and met Tiffany at the condo they'd booked. They enjoyed dinner at Cafe Sabor. Mom was excited to eat Mexican food since the boys won't eat it except for plain tortillas. Then she went to pick up Melanie at the airport. She was flying in from California. Finally, everyone was all together and we ate treats, talked, and watched the new Aladdin movie. It was a fun night and everyone went to bed around 11:00, which isn't too late.

Mom loves taking people to Cubby's. It's her favorite restaurant.

The next morning we woke up and ate breakfast at Hash House A-Go-Go, which has huge portions. Mom's pancake was so big she only ate half of it. But the food was delicious! Then we all went to the St. George Temple. The temple is closing down next month for 3 years while they redo lots of things to make it earthquake proof and up to code. The session was really nice and it was so awesome to be in the temple with all the sisters.

After the temple, we headed back to the condo to change. We weren't hungry because the breakfast was so huge, so we ate a few cookies and went shopping at the outlets. Mom found a few new shirts, and everyone had fun browsing together.

Finally it was time to grab dinner before our big St. George adventure. We ate at a decent Italian place near our condo. Everyone tried different things and they were all good. Melanie and Mom shared a pizza and it was SO good!

Then we headed to the Tuachan theater. We were going to see When You Wish, and Mom hasn't been to this theater since she was a teenager and saw the play called Utah!. When You Wish was basically a Disney highlights show, so we all loved it. It had songs from all of the best Disney movies, and it was fun to watch them in the outdoor Tuachan theater. We had great seats, too. After the show, we went to bed because Mom had to get up early and take Melanie to the airport.

Mom dropped off Melanie at the airport at 6:30 AM, and then headed back to the condo. Everyone else was just starting to wake up. We packed our things, grabbed breakfast at Einstein Bagels, and headed out the door for home. Tiffany had a 2 hour drive to Vegas, and the rest of us were headed for Utah and Idaho. We made great time, and Mom drove the last few hours. She loved being with her sisters and wished they had one more day to catch up and have fun together. None of Mom's sisters live in Utah anymore, so she doesn't seem them as often as she would like. This trip was just what everyone needed!
