Vernal Day 1

We hadn't been to eastern Utah to visit Dinosaur Land since Seth was a baby. Since we had a few days over Fall Break, we decided it was time to make the trip. It was a minimal day at school, which means that the boys got home around noon, but Dad had to work a full day. That meant that Mom had to do all the prep and loading by herself, but only after she finished taking care of everything for Dad's new car. By the time Dad pulled up at four o'clock, the van was loaded and ready to roll!
It was a late night before because of the car purchase, so even Mark fell asleep in the car.
The drive to Vernal is about three hours, and we needed to stop at a restaurant in Duchesne county for our website. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of restaurants, even in Roosevelt. We found an ancient store called Marion's Variety, which has an old fashioned soda bar inside. The food was cooked right in front of us, and it was pretty good, though the portions were small. It was a fun little stop on the way to our hotel.
We had fun sitting at the counter and eating.
Dax really loves cheeseburgers right now.
Seth even ate dinner at Marion's.
We didn't get to Vernal until around eight o'clock. We stayed in a nicer hotel than usual, so none of the boys had to sleep on a cot. They each took a shower, we read scriptures, and then everyone went to bed early!
