Bear Lake Day 3

Bear Lake is one of our favorite places.

We wanted to be at the beach early because there were rainstorms forecast in the afternoon. After a quick breakfast, we headed for North Beach. We still had to drive way down the beach to get to the water, but no one got stuck this time. The kids enjoyed the kayaks, and Josh and Seth built a massive volcano in the sand. When they filled it with water, it actually looked like it was erupting.

Our boys love playing with Ben.

We love our kayaks so much.

Seth kept washing off in the water since he was covered in sand.

The boys like to tip themselves off the kayaks.

Here is the big volcano that Seth and Josh worked on.

Mom and Mel love hanging out together.

Here is the volcano erupting.

Mark and Dad showed up with drinks for everyone just after lunch. Bob had been shuttling people out on the boat all day, so when the boys arrived it was our turn. Dax and Bob were both excited, because they could fish. They only nabbed a single carp, but they didn't care. They were just happy to be fishing.

Dax was thrilled to be fishing with Bob.

Mom was glad to have Dad back!

Mom is so grateful that her mom and dad love Bear Lake, too!

One more family photo.

When the sky started to turn gray, we decided to pack up and get the boat off the lake. We were just in time, too, because after we got back to the house, the rain began to fall. The kids watched the Olympics while Bob grilled up massive steaks. Dinner was so delicious, and it left us stuffed!

After we'd eaten, we had a few indoor adventures. First we had a rootbeer tasting, which involved 13 brands of rootbeer. We chose Freddy's as our favorite, but mostly, we just liked drinking rootbeer and cleansing our palate's with crackers.

The kids liked rating the rootbeer.

Mom might have bought too many root beers!

The root beer tasting was so much fun.

Jonny taught the kids the dot game and they had lots of fun (except Alice).

When the winners had been announced, we passed out glow in the dark toys to the kids and had a dance party. With the lights out, it was really intense. Everyone had a great time. Our boys were particularly excited because they got to stay up late!

The glow stick dance party was a blast.

The whole gang
