Homecoming

Cutest teenagers ever!!

Dad required Mark to go to homecoming. He told Mark that he needed to give these girls opportunities to go to their high school dances, and Mark was a good sport. He wasn't sure whom to ask, but he decided that a girl named Aubrey, who used to live in our ward, was a good choice. Mark and Aubrey and a few other friends take math together and they hold study sessions as a group before big tests, so she is around a fair amount. Mark made a poster with two of his friends, and they all delivered them together on the same night.

This was the only pic I got out of Mark when he made his poster. He put Solo cups in a tower on it, too!

A few weeks later, Mark answered a late-night knock on the door. Aubrey and her friends were there with a poster reading, "Hope I didn't make you Nerf-ous! Yes I'll go to Homecoming with you!" They opened fire with their Nerf guns, but luckily Mark was uninjured.

Aubrey shot him with Nerf bullets in response!

In the days leading up to the dance, planning was pretty thin. This was a big "day-date" dance, and they needed to do something fun. Finally, Mark scheduled Top Golf. Mom and Dad decided to help out with dinner, and Nathan's Mom would do pictures. The plan was to pick up dinner at Costa Vida and take up it to Big Springs Park in Provo Canyon. Dad would pick up food, and Mom would decorate while pictures were taken among the Fall leaves. Unfortunately, the rain came, and it came hard, right before the scheduled time. We called the kids to ask what they wanted to do, and every one of them voted to go ahead with the plan. So we did.

The rain mostly cleared, and we found a pavilion. Dinner was amazing, and Mom did such a nice job of making the park seem formal. Best of all, it was really fun to interact with the teens and get to see them on their date.

Mom was so excited for Mark.

Mark in GQ mode. We found this perfect suit for him. No alterations necessary.

Aubrey's mom sent this pic of Mark picking up Aubrey.

The table decor and the old blankets from our car for them to sit on.

We enjoyed being around the kids so much!

They are such good teens.

Cutest couples ever!

From the other side.

Finally, they went to the dance. They danced a little bit, but mostly hung out and enjoyed each other's company. Afterward they went to Brecken's house, and played games and watched a movie. Then they drove around and dropped off all of the girls. It was a super fun and successful day for Mark.

The pictures turned out amazing!

Aubrey thought they looked like Ken & Barbie. I agree!

I love this spinning picture!

So sweet!

Plenty of silly boy pics, too!

We are so grateful Mark has such great friends!

Aubrey was such a kind date for Mark.

Despite the rain, everything was wonderful.

Mark sent me this post about how hot it was at the dance!!
