We had to meet at 7:30 Am at the school! |
Mom had the special opportunity to go with Seth to Clear Creek. It was her first and only time she will be attending. Mark went when it was an overnighter and Seth was still little, so Mom couldn't go. Dax missed the chance to go because it was the year of masks and covid. Now Clear Creek is just an extended day with no sleeping over, so Mom was able to go. She had to drive herself and she convinced Seth to ride with her instead of on the bus, so it was a blast. They listened to music and talked 90 minute drive each way.

The leaves were just beginning to change. It was so pretty! |
At Clear Creek they rotated through a bunch of different stations with some team building exercises, ropes course, hikes, dissecting owl pellets, and lots more. Mom's job was really easy: keep all the kids moving from place to place. She had a great time getting to know the kids and talking with the teachers, too.
Seth said his favorite station was the ropes course (as did most of the kids). They liked the challenge of trying to make it all the way around. Seth also like discovering an old chair from Highland Elementary.

Seth loved the ropes course. |
|
Mrs. Burgoyne was Seth's 3rd grade teacher and now she teaches 5th grade. |
|
They had to swing across and fit everyone in one small place and they did it first try! |

Heading out on the hike. |

Dissecting an owl pellet with his buddy Carter. |
|
Roasting marshmallows with Jeff. |
|
The hidden Highland Elementary chair. |
Clear Creek is in a beautiful setting. Mom was amazed at how pretty it was, and she was hoping to see some wildlife, but we did not spot anything other than an osprey near the reservoir on the drive up, which was definitely cool. Seth and Mom had an awesome time!
|
This was the other station they all liked. They had to balance the large board with everyone on it! |
