All About August

August was a fun month. We tries to squeeze as many adventures in as we could before school started, and then we still fit in a few more once school began. Here are a few happenings!

We took a tram ride using our Get Out Pass and then hiked over to Lake Solitude. It was a really fun adventure and a beautiful day!

We actually got to ride two chairlifts.

Lake Solitude is small, but pretty.

Mom and Dad were there, too.

It was a perfect day to be in the mountains.

We had the amazing privilege to attend the dedication of the Saratoga Springs Temple. It was so neat to be inside the temple that we spent so much time serving in, and to hear the beautiful blessings given by President Eyring. We even saw our friends Brother & Sister Cornellius, who organized the entire Open House, and helped to coordinate our volunteers.

We love this temple!

We always grow a garden and this year we let the boys each grow what they wanted in their box. Seth lovingly took care of this watermelon and it was delicious. Dax also grew a lot of corn!

We love our garden.

The watermelon was delicious.

Just like Lagoon, we take an annual trip to Splash Summit. We had a lovely day even though it was the most crowded we have ever been.

Seth loves the lazy river.

Splash Summit is a party!

Dad went on the big drop and survived!

Mom won some free ice cream at Brooker's Founding Flavors, which is one of our favorite ice cream shops. So we went to eat ice cream and celebrate!

Dad loves ice cream.

But not as much as Mom!

Seth had quite the adventure in August. He staged a wrestling match with Dax, and his pinky finger was stepped on. It was a little swollen, so Mom gave him some medicine and he went to bed. About a week later, he showed Mom his finger and she realized Seth need to go to the doctor.

After some X rays, and a visit to the specialist we found out that he had fractured his growth plate. He had to wrap it up for awhile, and it still has a slight bump, but it seems to have healed well. Hopefully it will grow as needed.

Umm...that finger does not look normal.

Getting a few X-rays.

Lots of different wraps until we found something he liked.

The specialist fitting a new wrap on his fractured growth plate.

Shortly after the temple dedication, a traveling tabernacle came. It represented the Old Testament tabernacle during the time of Moses. Mark and Dax had the opportunity to speak and teach about part of the Tabernacle, so we went to walk through and learn while they were serving.

Mark and Dax took turns sharing about the Camp of Israel.

It was so interesting to see the similarities to our temples today.

And three more fun activities in August!

Seth helped Mom make some pretzel bites one afternoon.

Dax took some of his FSY friends boating.

Dax and Mom got to check out a Rugby outing. It was so fun and Dax made friends with one of the players.
